Baqueira Beret

Morzine Ski Resort

Baqueira Beret Ski Breaks: Explore Spain's truly world class ski resort!

Baqueira Beret is undoubtedly Spain's Premier ski resort offering a world class ski area with slopes to suit all ability and experience levels and a modern, efficient lift system to help you effortlessly explore the areas 120km of perfectly groomed pistes. Baqueira also comes with a Royal seal of approval as the Spanish as King Juan Carlos has had a home in the resort for many years and regularly visits for family ski holidays.

So the question on everyone's lips is "how does Baqueira Beret compare to the more well known Alpine resorts in France Austria and Italy?". The short answer is very favourably for the following reasons;

1. The mountains are big. Baqueira Beret resort sits at an altitude of 1500m, (500m higher than Morzine) and the slopes rise up to a very respectable 2650m, (higher than both Avoriaz and Flaine).

There are a great many slopes to suit all ability and experience levels spread over 6 mountains and totalling 120km of prepared pistes which is at much as Morzine and Les Gets combined!

2. The snow falls regularly and very often in huge quantities. Baqueira Beret's location in the Northern Pyrenees ensures that it receives the full force of Atlantic and Artic storms so powder days are plentiful and historical snow records very impressive

3. Baqueira Beret offers a high number of world class hotels with several incredibly luxurious 5 star residences and lots of high quality 4 star properties giving the resort a real sense of well being not dissimilar to somewhere such as Megeve.

4. Toulouse airport with daily flights from major airline carriers such as British Airways and Ryanair is just 2 hours away meaning you can you maximise your time in resort

5. There are some thoroughly enjoyable mountain huts and restaurants from which you can admire the stunning views including a Moet and Chandon bar with live music for those who wish to people watch and a San Miguel bar/restaurant who make the most "chocolaty" hot chocolate I have ever tasted along with of course great beer and wonderful tapas

More than any of the above the thing that makes Baqueira Beret really stand out from the crowd is the fact that it is in Spain. No where else have I experienced the warmth of welcome from all staff in resort, a genuine enthusiasm to make your stay a great experience, combined with wonderful skiing, fresh snow, amazing tapas, wonderful rioja, a fiesta style apres ski party atmosphere that makes you want to get up and dance in your ski boots and of course as much San Miguel as you can drink
