Flaine is famous for its amazing snow record, convenient access to its own wonderfully varied, high Alpine skiing, breathtaking views of Mont Blanc, stark modern architecture and proximity to Geneva airport. All these ingredients add up make Flaine a popular choice particularly for weekend and short ski breaks for all groups.
Originally conceived in the 1960’s Flaine has recently undergone a major face lift as its owners have spent millions of Euros constructing exclusive apartments and upgrading an already modern lift system. Most of the accommodation offers ski to the door convenience and wherever you are located you are only a very short walk away from a lift.
Flaine’s apres ski scene revolves around a small selection of bars and restaurants, though party animals will find one or two places which stay open to the small hours.
Flaine is at the centre of the Grand Massif ski area which boasts 265 kilometres of pistes to suit all ability and experience levels over an impressively varied 5 separate resort domain also including the ski slopes of Samoens, Les Carroz, Morillon and Sixt fer a Cheval.
And what about the skiing and snowboarding?
Awesome! This is France’s 5th largest ski area on a par with Val d’Isere and Tignes for the extent and variety of the pistes. Slopes to suit all experience and ability levels from beginners through to advanced. You get a real sense of travel across the resorts of Samoens, Morillon, Les Carroz and Flaine. Huge new investment continues to be ploughed into the modern lift and snow making systems!
